New Video Takes Viewers on Guided, Walk-Through Tour of Castle Pinckney

A new video takes viewers on a guided, walk-through tour of Castle Pinckney.

Titled “Tour of Castle Pinckney,” the 15-minute-long video is narrated by the co-authors of the new book, Holding Charleston by the Bridle: Castle Pinckney and the Civil War (2024) — W. Clifford Roberts, Jr. and Matthew A.M. Locke.

Roberts and Locke lead you around the historic fort and through the structure’s front sallyport, explaining the structure’s long history and some of its most interesting features.

Robert Shenk of Mt. Pleasant, chief content officer of Wide Awake Films, filmed and produced the video. It is posted on this site courtesy of Robert Shenk, Wide Awake Films, Friends of Charleston National Parks, and Savas Neatie Publishing.

A special shout-out is given to Captain Yale Huett, Class of 1975, The Citadel. Using his boat, he faithfully provides transportation to and from Castle Pinckney for the Castle Guardians who care for and protect the site.
